PLAN
1st day:
Arrival in the afternoon in Trieste and check-in at the hotel. Meeting with the guide and walk in the city center. The guide will take you to discover the Borgo Teresiano area, with the Catholic, Serbian, Greek Orthodox and Lutheran churches. Once the visit is over, free time for dinner in a restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
2nd day:
breakfast, meeting with the guide and transfer to Miramare Castle for a guided tour of the interior of the Castle. Once the visit is over, return to the city center to visit the Colle di San Giusto with the Castle (external only) and the cathedral. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon I continue with the visits to the historic center, Piazza Unità d'Italia, the area of the former Jewish ghetto. The visit will end at one of our historic buffets, to taste the hand-cut hot cooked ham (typical of Trieste) accompanied by a good glass of local wine. At the end, free time, dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay in the hotel.
3rd day:
breakfast and check-out. Visit to one of the most important museums in the city: the Revoltella Museum. Elegant urban residence in Renaissance style, it was built between 1854 and 1858, based on a design by the Berliner F. Hitzig, a pupil of Schinkel, at the behest of Baron Pasquale Revoltella, who upon his death (1869) designated it as a museum and left it to city. Inside, the Revoltella museum is characterized by a spectacular helical staircase that connects the three floors, preserving the original furnishings and decorations (inlaid floors, painted ceilings, stucco coverings), as well as a large art collection.
Lunch in a restaurant, then departure for the return journey.
